About

Architecture and technical strategy.

I've worked across software engineering, product, program management, and architecture at Micron, Tableau, and Comscore. The questions I keep coming back to are how the parts of a system fit together, what we're trying to change, and which technical choices will actually help.

At Comscore I led enterprise architecture and technical strategy across a technology organization of 200-plus, alongside engineering management responsibilities that culminated in the SVP Engineering role. My work included setting the software development lifecycle and operating cadence, and leading a group of cross-functional architects.

The work I'm most interested in is architecture and technical strategy: understanding the constraints, weighing the alternatives, and setting direction that teams can use. My engineering leadership experience gives me a view of what those decisions ask of the people who have to carry them out.

I write about systems and engineering judgment, including what changes when AI becomes part of the work. The Field Guide collects the reasoning I wrote down for the architects I led. Model output is not telemetry looks at the evidence we need before letting an agent's account of a system determine what happens next.

I also built Grow Youth Giving to help families and communities introduce young people to giving. I think learning about money should include understanding nonprofits, choosing what to support, and explaining why. The site shares a simple family grant-making program and materials others can adapt. I want people to see that they can start small and make this teaching part of their own lives.

My role at Comscore ended in August 2026, and I'm taking some time off before my next role.
